The New Jersey coast had been worrying us (at least me) because we go off-shore there for a ways. We had great weather and did fine, till we got around Sandy Hook and into Raitan Bay where we 'rested' and waited for a few days. We were about 4 days early getting into NY. Ask me about it sometime.
I'll try to catch you up here but just a few words and shots for now.
We came into New York Harbor on Memorial Day morning. This is a shot from up the Hudson a little on our way to 79th street and our marina.
(Did I tell you Mary and I sang the Verdi 'Requiem' with a 250 voice choir in Carniage Hall?).
We then traveled up the Hudson River to Albany where Mary got off and flew to Austin. A week later Ted Brown and Helen's grandson Turner helped me move up to Waterford where the Erie Canal starts. I stayed at the Waterford Visitor Center (a quite wonderful place for boaters at the start of the locks leading up the canal) for a few days till Mary got back and our friend Chris came to visit again.
.
We spent a delightful week motoring west on the Erie Canal till we cut
north on the Oswego River to the shores of Lake Ontario.
We will head out across to Canada in a couple of days for the Trent-Severn
Waterway - but that will be another tale.
Till Later!!
